The surprise leader after seven rounds is Indonesia's Pitra Andika with 5.5 points.  He plays another surprise, FM Mari Joseph rated only 2273 who is in the 5 pointer group with four others. If I am not mistaken, Pitra has a good chance of making an IM norm if he wins this and wins/draws the next round

Amongst the Malaysians, the best scorer is Yeoh Li Tian with 4.5 points. Li Tian will meet his fourth GM in this round. With this pairing he has the required number of titled players for a IM norm. According to my calculations, he needs to win this and the last round to achieve an IM norm. But it will be very difficult because he meets the very experienced Vietnamese GM Nguyen Anh Dung.

Next is Yit San with four points and also meeting a GM. IM Mas is not doing well and only has 3.5 points but should win this round against weak opponent.
