Malaysia gets 1st GM

Yes, you read that right and no, it is not an April Fool joke. We really have a grandmaster.

The Asset, an international financial publication has awarded the "Asia's Banking grandmaster" to Tan Sri Dr Teh Hong Piow. In case you have been hiding under a rock all these years, Teh is the founder and chairman of Public Bank. Both Public Bank and Teh have won many awards over the years. It is not co-incidental, the bank is one of the best managed bank in Malaysia and Asia.

The bank also bagged the Asset Platinum Award for All-Round Excellence in Financial Performance, Management, Corporate Governance, Social Responsibility and Investor Relations.

On a side-note, I am awarding The Asset the Jimmy Liew Award for creating the longest award title in the world.

And to Raymond Siew, you have to close down your First GM Academy. Irrelevant now, no? :)
