The 2010 Asia Continental Chess Championship will be held in Subic, Philippines from April 20 till April 30.

Each Federation from FIDE Zones 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6 can enter one official player in the Open and Women’s Division or a total of two (2) players. In addition, each Federation may send extra players rated 2300 and above for the Open, and 2000 and above for Women based on the March 2010 FIDE Rating List. Extra players will be responsible for the payment of their board and lodging at the official hotel. Exceptions for the rating floor may be made by the Continental President on request of national federations.

The prize fund is US$50,000 for the Open and US$15,000 for the Women’s Championship. A first place in the open is worth US$6000 and US$3000 for the womens.

The tournament is an eleven round Swiss tournament with time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

Malaysia is in Zone 3.3 so I suppose our top player Mas will be competing. Singapore will be represented by Grandmaster Zhang Zhong, International Master Goh Wei Ming Kevin and FIDE Master Timothy Chan Wei Xuan.
