A chess professional talks about chess as a pro

Being a chess pro.

Maybe this is why we do not have many IMs and no GMs. Everything GM Gormally wrote about British Chess Federation applies  to Malaysian Chess Federation as well.

Can't disagree more with the article. Getting IMs and GMs got nothing to do with becoming a chess pro. A lot of people get this wrong.

Raymond Siew says that at one time we went to China to teach them chess.

What nonsense is that? I dare to say China's chess standard was never below ours even at the peak playing years of Jimmy Liew and Christie Hon. Maybe their organization was a bit weak, but we are talking about a nation of well over a billion people.

Please don't write what you don't know.

Who is still listening to Raymond Siew? Rubbish views and thoughts.

Yeoh Li Tian No.6 Mark Siew No. 41. What's your excuse, Raymond?

We are not interested in ratings and standings. Only to train and improve.

We need to learn to babysit for those child who send by their parents for extra curriculum activities. Forget about real chess hehe.

If Mark Siew is say No.6 and Yeoh Li Tian is say No.7 in a Swiss, Raymond Siew will tell the world how superior his coaching is and that his is the best in Malaysia and the sure path to first GM.

Pray that never happens hehehe. We taught china chess maybe RS knows some secrets hehehe.

RS was a juvenile when the first China chess delegation visited Malaysia. China's first WWCC to-be Xie Jun came that year.

RS, if you are a responsible blogger, put up an apology to the chess-playing people of China. Such distortion of facts is inexcusable. As least show you are sincere.

Jimmy Liew said...

I'm going to bet my entire chess career there will be no such apology. His ego is too big you see.

RS, very simple to find the truth. Go ask Datuk Tan.

What makes you think this Raymond "Once we taught China" Siew is interested in the truth? He is only interested in what he himself thinks.

Raymond is the Malaysian chess hero !

The true reason we don't have a GM is that we are weak. Weak, weak, weak, get that into your head.
