ChessBase's April Fool joke

2010 Chess Odyssey has this post. I scrutinize all four Chess Base articles that Ilham mentioned, and really do not think any one of them is a hoax.

But today I read something on ChessBase. It is kind of late as the Chessbase article is dated 2nd April, (maybe they are trying to catch everyone unawares)  but I bet that the April joke is this.

Yes, based from the last 5 articles, the latest is most likely to be hoax (nobody can claim they hv 'solved' any opening) but then again 2nd april is no april fool!...we,ll see the result in a couple of hr or couple of days!

King's Gambit solved ½–½
C33 Rybka/IBM cluster 01.04.2012

note the date in PGN viewer, so April fool may still apply. :-)

I read the best April fool's joke in one of the chess trainer's blog that provides what he calls, " one kind training ".

By going through "competitive analysis" you will be able to find his weakness. You then find a " killer "line to beat him.
Sounds like Kung Fu chess.

Jimmy is lucky that he did not play the French against Sumant in the Sea Games selection.

Mark Siew 1900+ vs. Yeoh Li Tian approx 2200. RS's challenge. Place your bets. Maybe can organise a pool even odds against RS

Mark knows Li Tian plays Caro Kann. But I will still bet on Li Tian.

I understand that a 300 rating point difference is one rating class difference. It is equivalent to my challenging a 2600+ GM to a match and of course he would burst out laughing and say why should he! But then we can always blame the FIDE rating system...

Oops, silly me! That was the April Fool's joke?

I thought April fool's has pass.

However, here's somemore.

Mark and dad who does not play chess , trained Sumant and claimed credit for his Sea Games Selection.
Mark unselfishly gave Sumant his killer line to beat Yee Weng.
Jimmy was fortunate , he did not played the French that day.

Not a joke the way he put it. Say YLT is over rates by 150 and Mark is underestimated by 150, in RS's mind, it is an equal match.

So, It is a bad joke and a big joke! Thanks for the clarification!
